Our Services

ROADWORKS provides comprehensive services in the field of Highways, delivering expertise and technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle. Our offerings span from conceptualization to project completion, specializing in technical feasibility and value engineering. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and tools, our services include:

The Network Survey Vehicle (NSV)

The Network Survey Vehicle (NSV) equipped with a Laser Profilometer is an advanced technology-driven system designed for comprehensive road pavement assessment. This specialized vehicle combines mobility with precision measurement capabilities to gather detailed information about the condition of road surfaces.
The Laser Profilometer is a key component of the NSV, utilizing laser technology to precisely measure and record surface profiles of the road. As the vehicle traverses the roadway, the Laser Profilometer captures data on irregularities, roughness, and other key pavement characteristics. This non-invasive and high-resolution profiling process enables a thorough analysis of the road’s condition, contributing to effective pavement management strategies.

The Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD)

The Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) is a specialized tool in civil engineering for assessing the structural integrity of road pavements. Operating on a non-destructive testing principle, the FWD involves dropping a heavy weight onto a load plate placed on the pavement surface. Sensors then measure the resulting deflections, providing real-time data on the pavement’s response to load.
This technology is crucial for evaluating load-bearing capacity, identifying structural weaknesses, and informing decisions related to pavement design, maintenance, and rehabilitation. The FWD’s efficiency lies in its ability to quickly and accurately assess the condition of road pavements, aiding in strategic infrastructure planning and ensuring the longevity and safety of transportation networks.

Mobile Bridge Inspection Unit (MBIU)

Mobile Bridge Inspection Unit (MBIU) Utilized for the evaluation of bridge conditions and structural integrity, this apparatus incorporates an automated folding and unfolding platform, a 90-degree rotation platform, and provides unrestricted access to concealed components of the bridge for inspectors. The system facilitates visual inspections in accordance with IRC SP-35 standards, incorporates Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), and supports assessments during bridge repair and maintenance activities.

Retro-Reflectometer

Retro-Reflectometer Utilized to gauge the coefficient of retroreflected luminance for road traffic signs during night-time conditions, this tool also measures the retro reflectivity of road markings in both dry and wet conditions, luminance coefficient, and skid resistance. Additionally, it is equipped with built-in GPS functionality to capture precise GPS coordinates for road signs and road markings

The 5th Wheel Bump Integrator

The 5th Wheel Bump Integrator is a specialized device used in road engineering and pavement analysis to assess the roughness and smoothness of road surfaces. It consists of a wheel mounted at the rear of a vehicle, with its motion influenced by the irregularities of the road. As the vehicle moves, the 5th Wheel Bump Integrator records vertical movements, translating them into data that quantifies the road’s surface conditions. This information is valuable for evaluating ride quality, identifying maintenance needs, and optimizing road infrastructure for enhanced safety and performance

The Benkelman Beam Deflection (BBD)

The Benkelman Beam Deflection (BBD) is a crucial tool in pavement engineering used to measure the deflection and flexibility of road pavements. Consisting of a lightweight beam with a hinged end, the BBD is placed on the pavement, and a load is applied to the free end. The resulting pavement deflection is measured, providing valuable data on the pavement’s structural condition. This information aids in assessing the load-bearing capacity, identifying potential issues, and guiding decisions related to pavement design, maintenance, and rehabilitation for optimal road performance.

Geotechnical investigation

Geotechnical investigation Geotechnical investigations are conducted by either geotechnical engineers to gather data on the physical characteristics of soil, earthworks, and foundations. These investigations are essential for proposed construction projects and the remediation of issues related to subsoil conditions, ensuring the stability and durability of structures affected by subsurface factors.

Axle load survey

Axle load survey is a systematic assessment conducted to measure and analyze the distribution of weights carried by individual axles of vehicles on roadways. This survey plays a crucial role in understanding the impact of vehicular loads on road infrastructure optimal road performance.

The Automatic Traffic Counter and Classifier (ATCC)

The Automatic Traffic Counter and Classifier (ATCC) survey is a methodical assessment conducted to monitor and analyze vehicular traffic on roadways. ATCC systems utilize advanced technology to automatically count and classify vehicles as they pass through specific points, providing valuable data for traffic management and planning.

A topographic survey

A topographic survey, often referred to as a “topo survey,” is a detailed and systematic examination of a land area to map its natural and man-made features. Conducted by surveyors, this type of survey aims to capture accurate and comprehensive data about the terrain’s elevation, contours, vegetation, water bodies, buildings, and other physical characteristics

LABORATORY ENGINEERING (ISO/IEC 17025:2017 NABL Accredited Laboratory)

LABORATORY ENGINEERING (NABL ACCREDITATION LABORATORY) A diverse range of laboratory tests is available for the examination of soils, aimed at assessing various soil properties, including both index properties and engineering properties. Certain tests focus on determining “engineering properties” such as shear strength parameters, consolidation, and compaction, providing insights into the soil’s structural behavior. Meanwhile, others concentrate on “index properties” such as Grain Size Analysis (GSA), Atterberg’s limits, Dry and Moist Soil Density, Specific Gravity, offering valuable information about the soil’s characteristics.
